I am Dr. Talluri now!

This is a big moment to me both personally, and professionally. I defended my thesis on 17 March, 2021. Given the current pandemic situation, what would have been a public event in front of family and friends instead moved to a virtual platform. I presented my work on choice-induced biases in decision-making, had some interesting discussions with the thesis committee, and came out as Dr. Talluri.

As a first-gen grad student entering Neuroscience with a background in Electrical engineering, I didn’t know what to expect from my PhD and what awaited me when I joined Tobias’ lab in Hamburg. Nonetheless, the past few years have been some of the best years of my life- they were a right balance of learning, success, failure, challenges, and productivity. What started with a chance meeting with Tobias in Amsterdam (left photo) ended with a successful defense (right), completing my transition from an Electrical engineer to a Cognitive Neuroscientist. I will continue working with Tobias for a few more months before starting a new postdoc in a different part of the world (more on that later).
